News Desk: Deputy Mayor of Isfahan for International Affairs said: “Recognizing the cultural identity of the Silk Road and reviving it is a path towards the realization of the lofty and strategic objectives of humanity in establishing cities for the advancement of peace and friendship.”
 
Speaking in the anniversary of the Silk Road project of Jeong Ju & Isfahan, Dr. Mahdi Jamli-Nezhad added: “Mutual relations in establishing unbreakable bonds between nations, convergence and sympathy in reinforcing the foundations of peace and friendship have always been regarded by human beings as the most important means for attaining global stability, in the course of successive centuries.”
He stated: “Without doubt, what have kept human beings unified and related, beyond all the false boundaries and various races, are their mutual aspirations and concerns. Therefore, human beings, in order to achieve this correlation, have always endeavored to establish the process of cultural and trade exchanges and familiarize themselves with other nations’ traditions and ideals.”
Referring to the Silk Road as one of the highways in forming human civilizations in various regions of the world, he asserted: “The Silk Road has had a great and significant role not only in increasing the economical exchanges and boom, but also in grounding and reinforcing a setting for peace and friendship and the mutual influence of the nations from the most revolutionary aspects of cultural diplomacy.”
Jamali-Nezhad emphasized: “With a sincere belief in the importance of the international influence of this nascent movement which has its roots in faith and religious thoughts, the municipality of Isfahan hopes to fulfill its great mission in the continuation of this fortunate path.”
He hoped that this mutual and grand move between the two friendly nations of Iran and South Korea become a turning point in finding novel solutions and realms for a breakthrough from the current immense challenges that threaten the human community’s peace.
 
Struggle for the Revival of the Silk Road
Afterward, the General Manager of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism of Isfahan said: “The Silk Road has been the center of cultural interactions and transfer of religious thought and opinions. We must, therefore, relentlessly struggle for its revival.”
Fereydoon Allahyari added: “Holding these symposiums causes nations to acquire a better understanding of each other and leads to the fortification of their relationships, enhancing their interactions in the tourism industry.”
He referred to the importance and strategic significance of the Silk Road in different cultural, political, social, and economic fields, and said: “The Silk Road has played an important role in reinforcing industry, innovation, and cultural and religious relations.”
The General Manager of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism of Isfahan emphasized: “In the field of religion and culture, the Silk Road has been a substantial center for cultural interactions and transmitting religious messages, ideas, and thoughts.”
Referring to the role of the merchants in transferring cultures to various parts of the world, he asserted: “It was through the Silk Road that Islam spread to the Far East, shaping great Islamic communities in the region.”
Commenting on the significance of the Silk Road in passing the message of Christianity and Islam, Allahyari stated: “Iran has always been the core of the civilization-making process in the antiquity and the Islamic era via the Silk Road.”
He asserted: “The Silk Road’s revival will lead to the creation of bonds between nations in the fields of politics, society, and culture, bringing about numerous results.” Allahyari went on: “Attention to the Silk Road has set the scene for the conclusion of some strategic international treaties.”
He enhanced: “The Silk Road, form the ancient times, has been one of the main connecting links between the East and the West. Thus, it is the same old road to which the rush of silk caravans gave the name of the Silk Road, stretching from Central Asia and from there to China.”
Stating that the traffic between the eastern and western countries had been immense, he added: “The Silk Road has an ancient history, playing a significant role in advancing the world civilization.”
He declared: “In recent years, the new research plan for the Silk Road, a plan proposed by UNESCO, has termed the road the ‘Dialogue Road’ in order to help the advancement of the dialogue between the eastern and western countries.”
The Silk Road with its respective historical and cultural importance, according to the General Manager of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism of Isfahan Province, has helped cultural interaction between the East and the West in the course of history.
Isfahan-South Korea Cordial Relations
Speaking in the symposium, the Deputy Governor of Kyung Sang Buk-do Province of South Korea said: “Today in the symposium, the plaque for cooperation in the Cultural Festival of the Silk Road held in 2015, Kyung Ju, was signed, providing an excellent opportunity for Iran-Korea exchange of peace and friendship.”
Hong Yonk Keong stated: “This is my second travel to Isfahan in the last two years. I feel relaxed that South Korea has established cordial relations with Isfahan.” Declaring that the memorandum for developing relations via the Silk Road was signed between South Korea and Isfahan municipality in the previous year, he added: “I feel content that today another memorandum was signed, increasing friendship between the two cities.”
The Deputy Governor of Kyung Sang Buk-do Province of South Korea went on: “To reach Isfahan, the nautical delegation of South Korea had a 45-day journey, passing through China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Oman.”
At the end of the symposium, the plaque for cooperation in the Cultural Festival of the Silk Road held in 2015, Kyung Ju, was signed between the Deputy Mayor of Isfahan for International Affairs and the governor of Kyung Sang Buk-do Provine of South Korea.
